Why Not Use the Innovation Courier Project to Create New Businesses and to Strengthen Existing Businesses?
Commencement of the Project
The Organization for the Development of Private Participation in Public Projects (ODPP or Minkatsu Kiko) was established in 1987 and has since been earnestly assisting town development projects over a period of 21 years based on consortia of industrial, academic and government (local government) circles.
The Innovation Courier Project was launched in August this year following lengthy preparations since last year with the cooperation of industrial, academic and government circles after a series of studies, research work and discussion meetings.
This letter is intended to introduce the said Project and to request your active use of the facilities offered by the Project. It is sincerely hoped that the Innovation Courier Project will greatly assist the creation of new businesses and further strengthen the existing businesses of your company.
Aims of Launching the Project
The Innovation Courier Project aims at developing small groups of people with different business backgrounds around excellent innovation seeds to create new businesses and to strengthen existing businesses through the collaboration of groups. The people in question possess diverse know-how, ranging from the administrative expertise of government official and those working for public or private bodies, the R & D strength of academics and the technical expertise as well as product development capability and/or strategic marketing ability of those working for private enterprises.

Advantages of Participating in the Project
- The project participants will be able to attend the business exchange workshop (to be established within the ODPP), a useful facility for the creation of new businesses and the strengthening of existing businesses of the project participating companies.
- Members of the Project will receive reports on existing innovation businesses and ongoing businesses of various companies and organizations through Innovation Courier, a journal, and the website, both of which will function as information exchange media for innovation businesses.
Invitation to Your Active Involvement
Through the Soft-Type Minkatsu Support Project, the ODPP has been striving to materialise projects benefiting the public based on the collaborative use of the know-how possessed by the industrial, academic and government circles. The latest Innovation Courier Project has taken the following steps as part of the Soft-Type Minkatsu Support Project with the aim of contributing to the creation of new businesses and the strengthening of existing businesses.
Step 1
Collection of such innovation seeds as research results, technologies, products, marketing ideas, etc. in Japan and abroad. Payment of Expenses – The necessary expenses are paid by the membership fees and the public service project budget of the ODPP.

Transmission of collected information on innovation seeds to the world via the following print medium and dedicated website
